The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has charged Deiondre Gilmore, 25, with capital murder following a drug-related robbery that happened on Sunday, March 12. HPD officers responded to a shooting into a vehicle call around 9 p.m. Sunday near Wharton Road and Kenwood Drive. The City of Huntsville is allocating $364,000 to help area nonprofits provide services to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The Community Development Department will soon distribute FY 2022 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
