A Huntsville man has been charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting on Saturday, Oct. 12. Huntsville Police responded to the 4000 block of Pulaski Pike at 10:50 a.m., where they found Jamie Darquez Cawthorne, 32, of Huntsville, deceased from gunshot wounds. The City of Huntsville’s sanitation customers will see their rates increase beginning Jan. 1, 2025, after unanimous approval by City Council. It’s just the second time the City has raised sanitation rates since 1999 and the first since 2010.
