Major Crimes Unit arrest

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has charged Jason Everett Moore, 47, with murder following a shooting on Tuesday, April 11.

HPD officers responded to a shooting call in the 4800 block of Blue Haven Drive shortly before 4:30 p.m. and located 40-year-old Damian Kenneth Collins Sr. with gunshot wounds. Collins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Major Crimes Unit Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation between the two men.

Moore is currently being booked in the Madison County Jail on the murder charge. The case remains under investigation, and no further information is available.
