Huntsville Police investigators seek capital murder suspect

Sept. 6, 2023 update:The U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended Tye’ Deshun Stevens, 23, in Anniston, Alabama, this afternoon. Stevens will be brought back to Madison County and booked in the jail on the two capital murder warrants.

The Huntsville Police Department would like to thank the public for its assistance in helping locate Stevens.

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has obtained two capital murder warrants for Tye’ Deshun Stevens, 23, of Huntsville, for the deadly shooting in the

4400 block of Bonnell Drive on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 10:29 a.m. HPD officers responded to the area and found D’Asia Monique Morris, 24, and Sequoiya Mone’e Lamar, 20, deceased.

Major Crimes Unit Investigators believe Stevens may be in the Anniston, Alabama, or Columbia, S.C. area. Stevens could be driving a silver vehicle with an unknown tag. At this time, no further vehicle information is available.

Recent photos of Stevens and his driver’s license picture are attached.

Anyone who sees Stevens should not attempt to make contact. Those with information on his whereabouts are asked to contact HPD Major Crimes Unit Investigator Julian Johnson at 256-924-1778.
