Thanks to a collaboration with Huntsville’s Green Team , the City approved a land lease agreement with a North Alabama nonprofit organization to accommodate the relocation of its greenhouse.

The agreement with the Master Gardeners of North Alabama provides land for its greenhouse and a small storage facility next to the CASA Garden and Kiwanis soccer field off Bob Wallace Avenue. The greenhouse is currently located at nearby Morris School.

The new site will also provide ample parking for Master Gardeners of North Alabama.

“MGNA offers gardening workshops to the community and a Master Gardeners course for certification,” said Brian Walker, Director of Landscape Management for the City. “This program is part of the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service. It fits in with our Green Team initiatives of educating the public about food security and knowledge of becoming a better gardener.”

Landscape Management also operates a large greenhouse off 9 th Avenue that grows plants used for the beautification of the City.
