Helping Houston’s Flood Victims in the Aftermath of Hurricane Harvey

Published on August 30, 2017

The City encourages those wanting to help to donate money directly to organizations that are well-positioned to provide assistance where it is needed most.

“Huntsvillians know what it is like to dig out of a natural disaster, and I’ve been asked how we can help,” said Mayor Battle. “The best way we can support those most affected is to contribute money to the reputable agencies on site, such as the  American Red Cross Salvation Army United Way , and the  Houston Food Bank .”

Huntsville is bracing for a period of rain as the remnants of the storm slowly moves through the region. The National Weather Service says North Alabama may experience heavy bursts of rain, which could raise flooding concerns. They expect skies to clear by the weekend.
