Downtown City Lights Dazzle on Clinton Avenue
Published on December 2, 2015
Visitors and patrons traveling along Clinton Avenue are now treated to a canopy of white lights threading across the street from Jefferson Street to Washington Street. The strands include about 1,400 LED bulbs, mounted 30 feet high to allow vehicles to easily navigate underneath.
The cost of the $9,500 project was made possible by a generous donation from DealNews, a popular web-based company that helps users discover online deals on the hottest products.
“DealNews is thrilled to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s lighting ceremony,” said Heather Lovett, DealNews Director of PR. “Huntsville has been home to our business for two decades. We hope our fellow neighbors will join us in this celebration, and will be encouraged to frequent the city center this holiday season to support Huntsville’s local businesses.”
DealNews CEO Dan deGrandpre joined Mayor Battle and Downtown Huntsville, Inc.’s Chad Emerson for today’s lighting ceremony.
“The Downtown CityLights represent another unique type of creative placemaking that enhances the downtown experience in fun, quirky, and original ways,” said Chad Emerson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Downtown Huntsville, Inc.
