Counterfeit Suspect Arrest

Published on November 16, 2018

The Huntsville Police Department has charged 40 year old Scott Wayne Crook for possession of a forged instrument and theft by deception, both in the first degree. He was stopped by one of our officers after an anonymous tip from a citizen this morning. Crook  was wanted in connection with the passing of counterfeit $100 bills  to include a video/photo we disseminated several weeks ago from a Firehouse Subs on Carl T. Jones. He presented one of the $100 bills and received change after a purchase back in October. Several other business were victims as well. Upon his arrest today it was discovered he had 6 more of the counterfeit bills on him.

The video attached is from the Fire House Subs on Carl T. Jones.

We are still looking for the second suspect in the other attached photo who presented a similar bill at an area Five Points business bearing the same serial #.

Citizens can call 256-722-7100 or 256-427-7270 if they know the identity of the second suspect.
