Huntsville residents and skateboarding enthusiasts from across the region took part in an online meeting on April 20 to discuss ideas for the new John Hunt Skatepark. The skatepark will span three acres between Kids Space and the Championship Soccer Fields at John Hunt Park. The tentative opening date is summer 2022.

During the virtual design input meeting, Team Pain, one of the world’s most prominent skatepark design companies, shared vision ideas and took feedback from participants about what the new park design could feature.

The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville is raising money to help pay for the project, which is expected to cost approximately $4 million. An anonymous $1 million donation helped begin the fundraising this year.

The City and skatepark designers want to hear from the public on this new project. Take part in the online survey at  https://s.surveyplanet.com/UAFKSa5iS .
