Visiting hours are restricted to the hours between 7 a.m. and sunset every day of the year.

Yes. All lot owners are required to notify the Cemetery Department of any change of address.
Do’s and Don’ts for Grave Sites
No personal items are allowed to be placed on a grave space to include, but not limited to the following: shepherd hooks, toys, arbors, shells, boxes, flags, trophies, lights of any type, stuffed animals, windmills, wind chimes, cans, bricks, gravel, mailboxes, memorabilia, statues, stand up decorations, glassware, or anything dangerous to the public or cemetery employees.
Please note: The Cemetery Department shall have the right to remove from any grave artificial or live floral arrangements.
No benches are allowed unless they are made of granite and they must be placed at the head of the grave as a headstone. In Maple Hill Cemetery, Block 41 thru 46, no benches will be allowed.
The planting of trees, shrubbery, or bushes are coordinated through the City of Huntsville supervisor of horticulture and forestry. The Cemetery Department reserves the right to remove at any time without notice any tree, shrub or plant, in whole or in part.
Except for service animals, animals are strictly prohibited in the cemetery.
Coping, fencing of any kind, hedging borders or enclosures of any kind are prohibited around any lot other than those grandfathered in.
Please check with the Cemetery Department prior to any monument requests. The Cemetery Department reserves the right to refuse or prohibit the erection of and to remove any marker, monument or other memorial, if in the opinion of the director; it is objectionable regarding size, material, design or structure.
Donations
Absolutely. By making a tax-deductible donation to the City of Huntsville Cemetery Department you will help keep our City cemeteries beautiful places to remember loved ones.
Donations are accepted for the purchase of trees. The City of Huntsville Cemetery Department Staff will consult with Landscape Management’s supervisor of horticulture and forestry to determine the best location for the tree. Trees and shrubs are planted by the City Horticultural Division during the fall to winter season.
Yes. Donations of any amount are accepted also for the purchase of sod, maintenance and upkeep of City cemeteries. This donation is based solely on what you desire to give and is greatly appreciated.
