In March of 2019, the Huntsville Planning Department, in cooperation with Grow Cove, local residents and business owners, began a Small-Area Plan (SAP) effort to help envision the future of growth and quality of life in the Cove Area. Over the intervening months and after several public meetings, a draft of the Cove Area Plan was created, offering strategic recommendations for the neighborhoods and commercial corridors east of the mountains
The Cove Area Plan is a roadmap for the future of the Cove community, drawn by its residents through a series of public meetings and an online survey. It covers topics such as future land use, bicycle and pedestrian accessibility and road improvements.
The draft Plan will be available on the BIG Picture website soon.
