Let the good times roll this Mardi Gras by adopting a handsome pet at a 50 percent discount February 5-13 at Huntsville Animal Services Mardi PAWS special. No masquerade about it! Dogs, puppies, cats and kittens are available half price. If you can’t make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, visit the shelter in Huntsville, AL and make a life time friend with a homeless pet.
There are so many pets that have been abandoned or given up by their owners that need good, stable homes. People living in an apartment should consider a cat or kitten, or even a small breed dog. Large dogs need a yard to run and play with the family kids. All pets should live indoors, go outside for exercise, and be provided good quality pet food.
Each adoption will include a rabies vaccination, microchip, spay or neuter surgery, and heartworm test. Restrictions may apply on some pets.?
All dogs are tested for heartworms, and should be on a heartworm prevention and flea control medication for the rest of their lives.
Those who can’t adopt but are interested in supporting Huntsville Animal Services, can do so through volunteering , fostering or donating pet toys and supplies . There is always a need for ‘stand-by’ volunteers who are available when called to foster young puppies or kittens too young to be adopted.
The Huntsville Animal Shelter is located at 4950 Triana Boulevard and is open Monday through Saturday for adoptions. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
