Canine Officer and Partner Take Top Honors at Regional Trials
June 14, 2017Huntsville Police Canine Officer and partner took home top honors at recent certification trials. The Huntsville Police Canine Unit participated in the annual United States Police Canine Association (U.S.P.C.A.) Region 22 Certification Trials, May 22 through the 25 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Twenty-eight canine teams from eleven different Law Enforcement Agencies participated in the trials. June 8, 2017A pedestrian struck by a police car on Memorial Parkway Monday night died shortly after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Canisha Staten, 27 of Huntsville, was attempting to cross Memorial Parkway around 10:15 p.m. Monday night when she stepped into the path of a police car traveling south on Memorial Parkway. In addition to the accident investigation and internal investigation is also being conducted because the accident involved a police officer.

May 25, 2017Huntsville Police are investigating an accident that happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of Sparkman Drive and Knowledge Drive. The accident claimed the life of 22 year old Mario Cottrell of Huntsville. Mr. Cottrell was the front seat passenger in a car traveling north on Sparkman Drive. Family members of Gladys Timmons reported her missing after she was last seen on Sunday afternoon. She is a 73 year old black female, approximately 5’4”, 170 pounds.
