One dead, another critically injured following weekend shooting

One man is dead and another person remains in the hospital in critical condition following a weekend shooting. Shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, a Huntsville Police officer was patrolling in the 3300 block of Meridian Street heard multiple gun shots. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Weatherly Road and Cannstatt Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at approximately 6:45 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old male with life-threatening injuries. He was immediately transported by HEMSI to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
