Huntsville Police conducted an Incident Review Board on Tuesday November 17th regarding the actions of officers from an October 17th shooting involving 57 yr. old Alberto Rivas. Huntsville Police arrested 26 yr old Christopher Maxwell Owens for 6 counts of Robbery. The arrest occurred yesterday at a home off of Mastin Lake Rd. The Huntsville Police Special Victim’s Investigative Unit arrested 39 yr old Ioan Adrian Cojocaru on Nov 11th for Sexual Abuse 1st Degree. Cojocaru was a licensed massage therapist from Florence, AL that also works in Huntsville. The arrest stems from an October investigation where an adult female alleged he had inappropriate contact with her while receiving a massage. At approximately 10:30 p.m. on October 16th, Huntsville Police officers responded to a 911 call at 2111 Edinburgh Drive. Upon arrival, they were confronted by Alberto Rivas, 57 years of age, who pointed a handgun at them. One officer fired, striking Mr. Rivas.
