The Huntsville Police Department is assisting with traffic control and road closures for the Mix 96.9 Von Braun Center Huntsville Christmas Parade starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7. Road closures will begin around 5:30 p.m. and last for the duration of the parade. Heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic are expected in the area. Please use caution if traveling downtown. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) recently conducted an underage alcohol detail throughout Huntsville after receiving multiple tips from the community about convenience stores selling alcohol to minors. The four-hour operation conducted on Wednesday, November 17, included HPD Community Resource Officers (CROs) and two juveniles. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has charged 32-year-old Mannery Fletcher and Edward Pugh, 32, with Murder following an incident at an apartment in the 4500 block of Foster Ave. HPD responded to the apartment around 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, and discovered 54-year-old Christopher Martin deceased inside.
