City of Huntsville offices to close for July Fourth holiday

City of Huntsville municipal offices will close Monday, July 4, for Independence Day. This includes Animal Services, Public Transit (Orbit and Access) and Municipal Court. City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 5. Garbage Collection: Residential collection will be delayed one day the week of July 4-8. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) will assist with traffic control for the Cotton Row Run from 7 a.m. to noon on Monday, May 30. Officers will be posted along the route to ensure runners’ safety. Areas impacted include downtown Huntsville, Blossomwood, Five Points, Old Town and Twickenham. Race routes can be found here. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) served a search warrant as part of a narcotics investigation at a home in the 3800 block of 10th Avenue the evening of Tuesday, May 24.
