Slaughter Road improvements
December 17, 2024In partnership with the Huntsville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the City is set to improve the intersection of Slaughter Road and Madison Boulevard. The MPO is covering 80% of the $5.375 million project while the City is funding the remaining 20%. The funding will evaluate the need for additional turn lanes and signal improvements at the intersection to minimize traffic backup and cover construction costs.

December 17, 2024Council Member Meredith joined his fellow Council members to celebrate the season with one of north Alabama’s favorite traditions at the annual Huntsville Christmas Parade. Despite the cold weather, downtown streets were lined with families and children eager to marvel at the displays with the parade’s theme this year of “Christmas in Toyland.” Catching a glimpse of Santa Claus, of course, was the highlight.
