The campaign aims to place pets into loving homes during one of the most heartwarming times of the year. Whether you’re ready to make a lifelong commitment or open your home temporarily, Animal Services is here to help you find the perfect furry companion.

“Adopting or fostering a pet during the holidays is a meaningful way to bring joy into your home,” said John Fischer, Director of Huntsville Animal Services. “The holiday season is all about family, and there’s no better time to make a pet part of yours. Fostering, even for a short time, can also make a huge difference in the lives of these animals.”

Adoptions include up-to-date vaccinations, a microchip for pet identification, spay or neuter surgery, a City license and free bag of dry pet food while supplies last.

Animal Services will also host a pop-up adoption event on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Starbucks at Village of Providence, 20 Town Center Drive NW . This event is the perfect opportunity to find a new companion or to share a pup cup with an adoptable dog.

A full list of available pets can be found here .

Animal Services is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Animal Services will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Call 256-883-3782, visit HuntsvilleAL.gov/Animal  or visit their Facebook page to learn more.
