Huntsville Police Department earns ninth advanced CALEA reaccreditation

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) received its ninth advanced reaccreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), which reaffirms the department’s commitment to providing exemplary service to employees and citizens. To achieve advanced accreditation, an agency must demonstrate continued compliance with 460 law enforcement standards. The City of Huntsville’s municipal offices and Municipal Court will close Friday, March 29, in observance of Good Friday. City offices will reopen Monday, April 1, at 8 a.m. Because garbage collection occurs Monday-Thursday, there is no change to service. Huntsville Transit will operate a normal schedule on Friday for both Orbit fixed-route buses and Access paratransit services.
