City of Huntsville to allocate nearly $364K in emergency funds for homeless

The City of Huntsville is allocating $364,000 to help area nonprofits provide services to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The Community Development Department will soon distribute FY 2022 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). Huntsville Police is assisting with traffic control for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11. Road closures will begin at 10 a.m. and last the duration of the parade. All roads are expected to reopen by 1 p.m. Please use caution if traveling downtown due to heavy pedestrian traffic.
