The City of Huntsville is increasing its budget for the new Hays Farm Park in South Huntsville. Huntsville upped its commitment from $3.6 million to $4.6 million for construction and development of the nine-acre park on Haysland Road. In turn, Hays Farm developer, Hylis Inc., led by John Hays, will provide another $1 million toward the project, bringing the total budget to $5.6 million. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) responded to a domestic violence call in the 2100 block of Chadburn Drive shortly after midnight on Saturday, Feb. 4. While officers were attempting to make contact with an armed individual involved, the individual was shot and killed. No officers were injured during the incident.
