A Monday morning traffic stop ended with Huntsville Police arresting Dante Kilgore, 28, on charges of assaulting a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon and using a false identity to obstruct justice. The Huntsville Police Department has charged both Joseph Stack, 44, and Quartney Smith, 36, with abuse of a corpse following the discovery of Laekyn Steelman’s body on Thursday, June 24. Officers were dispatched to the area of Maysville Road and Clinton Avenue just after 8 a.m. and found Steelman deceased in a wooded area. The Huntsville Police Department charged James Charles Williams, 50, with murder on Wednesday, June 16, for the death of Joe Harris, 39. Williams turned himself in at the Public Safety Complex. Officers were dispatched to 2201 Memorial Parkway on Tuesday, June 15 around 5:30 a.m. to assist HEMSI. Harris was found with multiple stab wounds.
